How to create a space that energizes you!
September 18, 2025
Colours matter. Your home design takes shape there. We already know colours evoke feelings and emotions, so use that to your advantage. Red, orange and yellow are known to bring alertness and energy, we think of a pop of yellow pillows or an orange lit lamp in the corner of your room. Maybe, though, you feel more energised in a calming space. If that’s the case, stick to neutral tones and avoid colours that are too loud (and distracting).
Keep it simple and cohesive; your home should feel put together and uniquely yours. Think of it as your own retreat, created by you, for you.
Choose an interior style that reflects your personality (don’t be afraid too!). One theme we've been revisiting for years is coastal; as Sunshine Coast locals, the beachy, coastal look just makes sense. It’s energizng, timeless, and it’s easy to see why it’s featured in so many of our builds.
Decide what’s important to you. Do you want ample sunlight or open plan living? The clearer you are on your priorities, the better the outcome will be and the more your space will reflect your true vision.
Materials also bring a sense of character to the homes. Cement for example offers modern, serious look that pairs well with other metals, while timber feels warmer and more homely. Both can be energizing in the right home and for the right homeowner.
When it comes to interior styling, eclectic, minimalism and coastal are all great choices. Minimalism proves that sometimes less really is more. A space free from clutter offers clarity and calm almost like a psychological reset that fuels creativity. Choose what you make you feel re-energized.
And don’t forget the third space. A multipurpose room that’s not the kitchen, bedroom or living area, a spot designed just for you. We’ve been incorporating these into our new builds more. They’re the perfect place for relaxing, creating, or simply recharging.
